Nurse scrub caps for theatre and long shifts
+
Our nurse scrub caps are handmade in our workshop for the people who keep wards and theatres running. They’re washable, reusable fabric theatre caps in fun prints, subtle patterns and plain colours, made to keep you company shift after shift.
Whether you’re scrubbed in for a long list, halfway through a twelve-hour day or covering nights, a cap you actually enjoy putting on makes a difference: it keeps your hair tucked away and adds a little colour to your uniform.
Every cap is one size and adjustable, and each product page gives the head circumference in centimetres. Not sure of yours? Our guide Scrub cap fit: how to measure your head takes two minutes to follow.
Which style suits your hair?
+
Long hair or a bun: the Dorothea scrub cap for long hair is roomier, with a double fastening: elastic at the nape plus ties at the back. It measures 59 cm at rest, stretching to 67 cm.
Short hair: the Henderson tie-back scrub cap adjusts from 50 to 67 cm with its ties. Rather not tie anything? The Zendal has an elastic at the nape (53 cm at rest, up to 64 cm). Fancy a bandana look? The Camilo adjusts from 54 to 70 cm.
Still weighing them up? Types of scrub cap: how to choose the right one compares every style.
Your name and specialty, embroidered
+
As an option, add your name, your specialty or both, on two lines: your name on top and ‘Theatre Nurse’ or ‘Paediatrics’ underneath, for example. The team can see who’s who at a glance, and your cap never goes astray in the changing room.
It’s proper embroidery rather than a vinyl transfer. Just type your text in the ‘Personalisation’ section of the product page.
Kit that works as hard as you do
+
Long days, night shifts and on-call hours are easier when your kit is sorted. Keep pens and scissors to hand with a matching pocket organiser, and pick up a few ideas for getting through the night in Surviving night shifts: tips from healthcare workers.
Reusable and machine washable, your cap is ready for the next shift as soon as it’s dry.
Frequently asked questions
+
Which scrub cap should I choose for long hair?
The Dorothea: it’s roomier than our other styles and holds all your hair, bun included, with elastic at the nape and ties at the back. For short to medium-length hair, choose the Henderson, the Zendal or the Camilo.
Can I have my name and specialty embroidered?
Yes, as an option: your name, your specialty or both, on one or two lines. Add the text in the ‘Personalisation’ section of the product page.
What head circumference do the caps fit?
They’re all one size and adjustable: the Dorothea fits 59 to 67 cm, the Henderson 50 to 67 cm, the Zendal 53 to 64 cm and the Camilo 54 to 70 cm. Most adult heads measure between 54 and 58 cm.
Can I wear a fabric scrub cap in theatre?
Rules vary between hospitals and departments, so always follow your workplace’s policy. Our caps are machine washable and reusable, an alternative to disposable caps wherever fabric caps are allowed.
How do I wash my scrub cap?
Machine wash at up to 30 °C, no bleach, and air dry.
How long will my order take to arrive?
